A twelve-year journey through the Chinese Zodiac, bringing together Johnnie Walker Blue Label’s rare whisky character and twelve distinctive artistic interpretations.

Each annual release combines the signature Blue Label profile — rich dried fruit, honeyed sweetness, spice, oak and elegant smoke — with a unique Zodiac-inspired presentation.

2014 — Year of the Horse

ABV: 43%

Bottle: 75cl

The collection begins with a beautifully rounded Blue Label. The nose brings dry smoke and raisin sweetness, followed by hazelnuts, honey, rose petals, sherry, orange and kumquat. The palate develops into sandalwood, tobacco and dark chocolate, with a long finish of smoke, pepper and warming spice.

2015 — Year of the Ram

ABV: 43%*

Bottle: 75cl*

A soft and elegant expression with dried fruit, honey, citrus and oak. The palate brings caramel, dark chocolate, orchard fruit, spice and subtle nuttiness, leading to a long, smooth and refined finish.

ABV and bottle size can vary by market; some 70cl versions are listed at 40%.

2016 — Year of the Monkey

ABV: 43%

A rich Blue Label profile with raisin sweetness, dry smoke, hazelnuts, honey and rose petals. Citrus, sherry, sandalwood and dark chocolate develop on the palate before a long smoky, peppery and spicy finish.

There were also special travel-exclusive variations of the 2016 release, making this year particularly interesting for collectors.

2017 — Year of the Rooster

ABV: 40%

Bottle: 70cl

The profile opens with oak, crisp spice, dried fruit and pastry notes, accompanied by berry fruit, aniseed, cedar and citrus. The palate brings toffee, chocolate, malt and gentle smoke, finishing with floral oak, dried fruit, spice and honey.

2018 — Year of the Dog

Designed by Taiwanese artist Page Tsou, this edition combines the Blue Label character with a distinctive artistic presentation.

The whisky offers dried fruit, citrus smoke, honey, sweet spice and vanilla, followed by a velvety combination of chocolate and gentle smoke.

2019 — Year of the Pig

ABV: 40%

Created by English illustrator Chrissy Lau, this release has a fragrant profile of oak, dried fruit, berry fruit, citrus and gentle spice.

The palate develops into toffee, chocolate, malt and dried stone fruit, with touches of orange peel, vanilla and dried fig. The finish is warm, smooth and lightly smoky.

2020 — Year of the Rat

ABV: 40%

Designed by Shirley Gong, this expression delivers the classic Blue Label combination of dried fruit and citrus smoke, followed by honey, sweet spice and vanilla.

The palate becomes silky and chocolate-rich, finishing with rounded, elegant smoke.

2021 — Year of the Ox

ABV: 46%* / 40%* depending on market

Another Shirley Gong design, with a whisky profile built around polished oak, vanilla, dried apricot, fig and toffee.

Dark chocolate, almond, orange zest and walnut spice appear on the palate. The finish brings dark dried fruit, cocoa, toasted oak, warming spice and gentle smoke.

The US release is commonly listed at 46%, while UK/European versions are commonly listed at 40%.

2022 — Year of the Tiger

ABV: 40% or 46% depending on version

Designed by Shan Jiang, this release brings spice, vanilla, honey and sweet fruit on the nose.

The palate develops into nuts, caramel, chocolate, hazelnut and vanilla, with subtle herbal and peated notes. The finish is smoky, sweet and warming.

2023 — Year of the Rabbit

Designed by Angel Chen, this edition presents a soft and approachable Blue Label character.

Expect spice, vanilla and honey, followed by caramel, hazelnuts and dark chocolate. The finish is long, warm and gently smoky.

2024 — Year of the Dragon

Designed by renowned artist James Jean, the Dragon edition combines an elegant artistic presentation with a refined Blue Label profile.

The whisky brings soft smoke, dried fruit, citrus peel, honey and vanilla, followed by orchard fruit, hazelnut, caramel, dark honey and toasted oak. The finish is long, refined and smoky.

2025 — Year of the Snake

Also designed by James Jean, the Snake edition presents a sophisticated profile beginning with subtle pepper and spice.

The palate develops into hazelnuts, citrus, vanilla sweetness and honey, followed by a long, luxurious smoky finish.
